specification & prototyping Return to web development

The old adage of ‘measure it twice and cut it once’ certainly holds true in web development

This is why our business analysts will capture your business requirements and then create an online prototype or ’wireframe’ of the finished site for every project.  This enables the client to see and critique the proposed functionality before the programming and design starts.  This step ensures we understand the requirements and the Client can feedback back on a visual requirement set, which is typically much easier than a written specification document. Once complete, the prototype is signed off by client before progressing to the next step – the technical specification.

This is a written specification document which contains all the feature requirements for the site development.  The specification also includes a thorough search engine optimisation review of the proposed website, including keyword strategy and matching to proposed pages and internal structure.  Once this is signed off by the client before development starts and occurs at the same time as the Design work.

Why do we approach development in this way?

Simply because after 15 years of building complex web sites, we have found it offers the most cost effective way to get the client the outcome they want, within an agreed time frame.
