Junior Web Developer Shahram Zamani explores the benefits of using WordPress.

We work with a variety of web building platforms here at Bravr, but time and again we find ourselves using WordPress.

Clients love it, search engines love it and so do we. Here are some of the top reasons that WordPress is frequently our content management system of choice.

Client-friendly

A custom-built CMS may sound impressive, but unless you have been given the proper training or have good technical capabilities in house, making changes to the website can be difficult. We have heard horror stories about developers who effectively hold a client’s website to ransom by charging the earth to make what should be simple changes. WordPress is so easy to use that even the least web-literate person can manage it. This empowers clients to take control of their website and make updates when needed rather than relying on a developer.

Excellent array of plugins

Few systems of the variety of plugins available on WordPress – and even fewer platforms offer plugins that can be so seamlessly integrated. This makes it particularly easy to add functionality to a website should the needs of the client evolve. What’s they are usually free, so there are no additional costs involved.

SEO friendly

Out of the box, WordPress is already reasonably search engine friendly. Its default templates are for the most part very cleanly coded. It also has features such as the ability to generate search engine friendly URLs as standard.

You can also take advantage of excellent SEO plugins such as All-in-One SEO pack. SEO plugins make it easy to ensure every page of your site maintains basic SEO best practice.

It’s free and open source

WordPress is free and open source. This means you can download, install and modify it free of charge. There are no charges when your website hits a certain size, and none of the code is hidden from you. This means provided you have a domain and web hosting, WordPress is yours to do with as you please.

But it’s not just the software itself that is free. There are well over 30,000 free plugins and over 2500 free WordPress themes too.

Easy to access

WordPress is cloud based, which means that if you have access to the internet, you can access WordPress. This makes it exceptionally easy to manage and update, even from mobile devices. There are free WordPress apps available on IOS and Android.

Simply put, WordPress delivers beautiful, SEO friendly websites that clients feel comfortable updating, which reflects the ethos of the development team at Bravr. We pride ourselves on taking the time to listen to our clients and deliver the best solution for their requirements. To discover how we can improve your web presence, contact us.
