About Leader Engineering

Founded by Grahame Roberts in 2005, Leader Engineering prides itself in finding staff and providing an enhanced energy recruitment service across the globe. In 2013, the company leapt from the realms of a family lead recruitment agency to a world class global recruitment company, sourcing talented contract and permanent staff across the upstream, midstream, wind and solar industries.

Leader Engineering strives to be better than a run-of-the-mill recruitment agency, through the provision of a high-touch service for both clients and candidates. With over a decade of on-the-ground experience in the industry, they’ve forged strong partnerships, going beyond the remit of normal recruitment agencies by providing in-country advice and knowledge to ensure their candidates are safe and protected.

In 2015, Leader Engineering Leader sought a new web development agency that could build them a new modern website which supported job posts from their discrete Recruitment Customer Relationship Management Tool (CRM). Due to our extensive experience of working with global recruitment agencies, Leader Engineering approached Bravr to offer guidance on bringing their digital presence up to date, in line with their recent growth within the market.

Challenges

Upon first consultation, some key challenges were identified:

  • The existing website was dated; it was built using an outdated platform with no content management system (CMS) in place.
  • The client was unable to make even the simplest changes to the site such as add, remove, or edit pages.
  • The job search function – one of the site’s key elements- was broken.
  • The website was not responsive to tablets or mobiles; a critical problem in a time of increasing demand for mobile and tablet friendly websites, particularly in the field of international recruitment.
  • The brand’s overall static representation on the website wasn’t in line with the business’s global presence.

Through this consultation, we concluded that we needed to undertake two separate but concurrent tasks; in the short term, we urgently needed to update the content on the existing website, whilst creating a robust, functional new website that would represent the company’s brand in the long term.

Our Solution

For the long term project, Bravr’s first step was to gain a clear understanding of the business requirements. We understand that no two businesses are alike, and despite having experience building recruitment websites before Leader Engineering, we needed to get to know this business, the complex processes, and the people behind the website.

In conjunction with this, we started looking at ways of updating the existing website. Since we had no access to the hosting of the old website and the existing agency was not cooperating, we decided to rebuild the website onto a new platform. This took the time pressure off the main redesign project, and we provided the new temporary website as a value-add service to the client at no extra charge.

After several meetings we had a solid understanding of the client’s goals and the features required for the site, which was turned into a requirements document. We progressed onto design, providing several examples and concepts for the client to comment on until we could narrow down the look and feel they required.

After several iterations, we got the design to where the client wanted and built the website. After extensive testing and QA we launched the new Leader Engineering website.
